Campin'... I love the outdoors. Most fun I've ever had was goin' on them one day huntin' trips when I was a kid.... One day...''cause of work for my dad and school for me. We'd take off and walk a couple of miles back behind the house. Lots of woods back then. Havin' nuttin' with us but a couple of blankets , our old shotguns and my little brother (dog) named Tippy... A couple of hotdogs for dinner over an open camp fire....then hit the sack. Up before daylight for a cup of coffee , then off huntin' them squirrels .. Some good days back then... Beats sittin' at home watchin' TV anytime.

Had a fishin' trip somethin' like that with one of my boys when he was in high school. I fixed my ol' boat up for catfishin', pedestal seats that lift out and leave the whold bottom of the boat flat as the kitchen floor.
We took some grub, blankets, lot's of bait, hung out a coleman lantern and just anchored down in the main river channel up on the lake here. We'd fish a while, nap a while, crack each other up a while actin' silly and even caught a squeaker or two.
One of the best trips I ever took.

I'm thinking that me and Katchin Katie the Pan Fish Princess are gonna have to do a over nighter before we do the big trips during the summer. We finance our trips by saving quarters and we start xmas day, so far the $ count is 138.75 (got us a bank that counts it for us) and i cant even imagine how much dimes, nickles and pennies we have. Sring break is right around the corner and i'n thinkin mid week we will be on a over nighter at Horseshoe Bend on Beaver Lake Arkansas

Sounds great. Those short trips, overnighters, can be a lot of fun. Less hassle, usually closer to home where you know the water, the bait and where the bathroom are ;D

Yeah, I like one nighters! One time I was at this bar and this redhead, uh oh forgot this is a family site. Sue John and I headed to the Jersey Pine Barrens (home of the Jersey Devil) Setup up camp Friday night and heading home Saturday morning. Saturday morning I head for the shower house, John and Sue policed up camp and were just a few steps behind me. I come out the shower house and see Susan standing next to the big green garbage dumpsters. She is holding John by the feet, and he is searching the dumpster. For? Yep! The car keys! Had a real nice ride home in the tow truck! Very friendly driver, he didn't laugh to much. When we got home, Sue went to tip the tow driver, and found the car keys in her pocket book. On the way home, the weather picked up and we got hit with what the weather folks called a micro burst. (Never heard of them until that day kinda like a mini tornado) John opened the front door, and bam the wind, just took it out of his hand, bent the hinges back and shattered the glass. One of the best camping memories we have!
