I don't fish much with lures outside of twister tails or small panfish jigs, but when I do, it is always the Lazy Ike
I started fishing them because my grandpa knew Kautzky in Fort Dodge Ia and was part of a group that helped fish the first lures and get them "noticed"
Favorite is the Tiger Ike, which is dark green with orange tiger stripes, I fish it along shoreline drop offs casting the clock and it has been deadly on bass, walleye and pike, have even had some big channel cats caught on them every once in great while

I've got a tiny one in my box that I use now and then. Its black with yellow spots. I'm not sure were I got it but I've had it for years and its caught all kinds of fish.

I've used Lazy Ike in frog and perch. Always reminded me of the old Flatfish. Both good lures at times.

I think any lure that a person is comfortable with is likely the one he will catch the most fish with
Because I fished them from the time I was little, and caught fish in both fresh an salt with them I love my Lazy Ikes
Also am real fond of twister tails and find it really really hard to beat an OlMike Jig --

Curl tails are hard to beat. The salted ones seem to work awful good for me. I've fished 'em pretty hard here in the river and the lake. They're a good 'go to' lure here. They'll take a variety of fish in most any water. A good friend and I were once fishing the spillway below the dam here and he caught a 19 pound cat. It was early spring, the water was COLD and boy were them steaks good off of it.

Bein' the type of fisherman I am, I do believe in usin' the bait that they are hittin' at the time... I guess that's why I have soooo many different types of lures for bass, crappie, 'gills and catfish (mostly catfish)... But, it seems when I do go fishin' , no matter what fish I'm after, there's always that one bait that I start off with and finish up with and that's the one they're hittin' the most.
........well, it made sense in my head.
