i do alot of dutch oven cooking and have gotten pert good at it. here is one of my fav desert recipes
1 15oz can cherries 1 15oz can black berries 1 15 oz can raspberries DRAIN ALL FRUIT well 2 cups sugar 1 can seven up 1 cup chopped pecans 1 stick of butter
i box yellow cake mix ( follow directions on box )
Line dutch oven with foil. pour in all friut and nuts, and bout3/4 of the seven up. Mix well. add butter in pads all over the top of fruit and nut mixture mix up cake batter and pour over the top of the fruit mixture. put on lid. cook this over 9 or 10 coals on the bottom and 15 to 18 on the lid. when cooking on a dutch ovn 1/3 of the coals goes on the bottom and 2/3 on the lid. rotate every 15 minutes, rotating the lid the oppisite way for 45mins to 1 hour
