yep thats fer sure...started gittin stuff ready fer the garden yesterday....gotta clear some more land ...puttin in sweet corn this year..1/4 acre or so maybe

Things I do when I get bored....
Setting around the house ....waiting to go to the doctor....SUCKS !
So I jump in my truck and go to the river bottoms...Just to see why nobody is catching any fish.....
Now I know why....
It's gofish's fault ... He done flushed on us again...
Can't get to the bottoms from my haouse... gotta go all the way around to the hard road and drive a nuther two or three miles to even see the river.
 Then ya gotta drive thru some of it just to get to the river.
Yep, the backwater is up and running down here...Last count I had the river (Ohio) was in the 30+ feet normal stage is around the 15 foot mark...
Yes, most of the water is comin' from gofish's house up North 'cause he flushed again....
Might make for some good duck huntin' but, duck season has done come and gone..
Roads are covered to the point that I can't even get to my favorite bank fishin' holes....And the river has got enuff wood floatin' down it, I thought about startin' me a loggin' company...   Like I said .. I had to drive thru the water just to get where I was going.
Well, crap... I hate to start a story and have to stop right in the middle of it... Maw just come in and is a hollerin' about my honey dos ( you city folk may call 'em "chores" .. I gotta go get them done then later tonite I'll finish my little tour of WHY I CAN'T FISH ( 'cause of gofish)

I suppose us flushing may have backed up the Ohio from dumping into the Mississippi, a little...LOL!

Well, When we drove past your house today about 3pm, Something sure smelled backed up?? Someones septic tank must need a good pumping?? lol Glad that guy on the Black Horse got out our way & That little dog chases us everytime we been down that main road. Sorry, We didn't stop, But we did wave. You & the guy you was talking to waved back & that made us smile  Really didn't know we was going to be in the area till the last minute. We was out just riding around doing the Find a Grave thing that the Ms. loves to do. We didn't stop cause we just don't like dropping in on people unanounced. Plus we had our Dog's with us & I just don't think our brakes could handle coming down that hill when we would have left,,,lol Oh, That was us in the Maroon 95 Grand Am. Not sure if Duke "The Wonder Pup" had his head hangin out the driverside window,,lol We did see something when leaving you Nice Lil' Town on the left side (North Side) of 492. It was like sme Holes in the Earth Lined with bricks,,Stone or Something?? The Ms. thinks they was Adobe?? They looked to be in a Hog or Cow Lot?? We just got home from our long day of riding about a hour or so ago,,,lol |

reckn it works both ways buddy....i flush n yall git nuff water ya back my river up n don wanna drop .....seen couple times yall was so low down there we git a good rain n i cant anchor without droppin out all 200ft a bow rope its drainin yer way so fast lol....strange all them miles tween us n were tied tgether riverwise so much.......by the way........is flushn gain lol...sendn nuther 4ft or so yer way now....oughtta hit yall mon or so

Them holes in the ground are COKE OVENS used back in the early 1900's for cooking coal to make coke.. Not the type you sniff or drink...
Yep, I saw you guys and I ask my bud (that I was talking to) if t was somebody that knew him.. I didn't know the car... He just said , as we all do when we don't know a car or truck.. "They're Tourist" or "Foreigners" if ya don't stop , that's what you are to us here in Dekoven.
Hell, you should've stopped.... I was washin' my truck... Needed all the help I could get.
But, you found me, now when it's time to fish... You won't have any trouble gettin' here on time.
Next time if you see my red truck on the lot, stop... I don't mind friends droppin' by. |

Sorry, Just now getting back in here since I posted last. lol, Yeah, I know what Coke is in the Coal Business. I use to work for Standard Lab's in Evansville,In. where we did testing of all kinds on Coal. Tested Water & Soil too, But I worked in the Coal area. lol @ Foreigners. Maybe the next time we won't have the pup's with us & the brakes work better on the car then to or I guess we could park just out of the road & walk up ,HUH?? lol We love the area down there.

Got my Taters and Onions in yesterday, and waiting for my seeds to arrive to put in the radishes, and start my maters and peppers. Beans will be last.
Uncovered my strawberries, and waiting for the asparagus to pop up.

ha ya beat me to it but not by much ray.....finally back workn a bit...pourin concrete hard las couple days...110 yards yesterday......got all my "early" crops in n gittin nuther section of my garden ready fer a week or 2....seems i dun got my ulcers back sos hot peppers are gonna be fewer this year...still plantin nuff ta make my rubs n hot sauce though

You got to send me a hot sauce/salsa recipe(s). I screwed up what I made last year. Tried again and messed up the second batch to (way, way to runny). Just need one I can use.
Started my tomato and pepper plants in the house this am, and put in my radishes and sweet spanish onions in the garden.

Well folks, today was the first time in at least the last 31 years that I can remember being off on Easter Sunday. Wow I love my new job. Only thing is, you can tell that spring is here as I have been in the house almost all day as I can not see or breath as the pollen count is maxed out here with everything blumming. Oh well everyone is outside and I am all alone at the computer. (hey there had to be a bright side to this story) I hope everyone had a great Easter.
